CYBI? wins Best Children’s Book and Best Non-fiction Book at Hamilton Literary Awards

Can You Believe It? has won in two categories at the Hamilton Literary Awards presented by the Hamilton Arts Council in Ontario, Canada. It won best Children’s Book and best Non-fiction, which included books for adults.

The awards were presented at an event on December 14 at Hamilton’s Central Library downtown to a sold-out crowd of the city’s literary supporters, readers, writers, publishers and booksellers. The evening was hosted by Governor General-award winning author Anuja Varghese. The event marked the 30th anniversary of the awards.

In her speech, Joyce thanked the Hamilton literary community, Hamilton Arts Council and the Hamilton Public Library for their support and encouragement. The Non-fiction category was sponsored by A Different Drummer Books in Burlington and the Children’s Book award was sponsored by gritLIT.

Can You Believe It? was also nominated for the Forest of Reading’s Yellow Cedar award and the Hackmatack Children’s Choice award and was highlighted by Canadian Children’s Book Centre as a Best Books for Kids & Teens selection.
