E4D presents: Bringing Science and Democracy Together in the Classroom

Our governments make decisions that affect our everyday lives—taxes, healthcare, roads, infrastructure. How can we help young Canadians think—and care—about HOW those decisions are made?

Evidence for Democracy has brought together 4 experts to explore what needs to be done, to give young people the skills to think more critically about government decision-making: Panel Moderator Joyce Grant is a journalist and author of, “Can You Believe It, How to Spot Fake News and Find the Facts.” Soomin Han is a recent high school grad now working at Youth Climate Lab to advocate for climate justice. Ken Boyd is the Digital Media Literacy Program Manager at CIVIX, helping students become more informed citizens. And Isabelle Deslauriers works to help young people develop through STEM, at Let’s Talk Science.

Join us for a fascinating discussion on this very important topic that will become even more vital as we all swim in the often murky waters of social media and information overload.
